The reason why I'm using Crisis Core as a base rather than the original (which I had used as a base prior to the release of Crisis Core) is because although Crisis Core diverges at times from the original content it was still created by Tetsuya Nomura and the other staff members involved with the project and therefore all of the events should be treated as canon to the plot line.
