Fighting against lussuria The Varia are the Vongola's Elite Assassination Squad. They're all odd balls but they get along well and are able to complete any task handed to them with the utmost loyalty to their boss, Xanxus. That being said they're the opponents against Tsuna and his gang and the other canidates for the Tenth and his Guardians. Anyway, Xanxus also has a martial artist, Lussuria who Muay Thai, a technique that relies more on the legs and faster footwork.
Ryohei and Lussuria are the first to fight during the Ring Battles and their stage is a first look at the dangers of the various stages during the battles. Their ring is a classic boxing ring with Electrical Metal Wire heated over a hundred degrees and with high powered lights making it impossible to see in the ring without sunglasses. Although sunglasses are a part of Lussuria's daily outfit, Ryohei is unable to see giving him a distinct disadvantage.
Ryohei is able to use his Maximum Cannon to destroy the lights above him using the salt crystals that form on his body do to the over heating of his sweat. This allows him to see but Lussuria still has an advantage over him. Lussuria's metal knee plate covers his knee (which he uses as his main defense) from Ryohei's punches. Ryohei is about to lose however until Kyoko and Hana appear. His love and need to protect his little sister and keep her from crying, is able to make him concentrate all his strength through his cells into his punch and shatter Lussuria's knee plate thus breaking Lussuria's leg and leaving him unable to fight. Winning Ryohei the first battle.
