because sometimes, being just plain awesome... isn't good enough.

While infiltrating the Melone Base Ryohei, Yamamoto, Lal Mirch, and Gokudera run into Baishana, a man whose giant storm snake grows by eating other box animals. Since Lal has forced Ryohei to sit out during the previous fight, he insists he takes this fight. Ryohei immediately releases his back up, his faithful companion Kangaryū, a Sun Kangaroo. Ryohei and Baishana have completely different styles. Baishana relies on his snake where as Ryohei only uses his weapon for back up, in order to rely on his own skills.

Baishana's snake immediately attacks Kangaryū using its storm flames to attempt to cause degeneration of Kangaryū. Baishana a then claims that his storm flames make Ryohei's sun flames, which are made for healing incredibly weak against his own. Ryohei replies that using Kangaryū as is unnecessary it is simply a support weapon. Ryohei faces the snake straight on using his fist. The attack causes the snakes upper jaw to split, completely immobilizing it. Ryohei's hands however are fully healed because his sun flames combined with Kangaryū's are able to heal faster than the snake could destroy.
