For everything you need. Amano Akira is both the artist and writer for Katekyo Hitman Reborn! It's not her first work but it is by far the most popular of her works. She is shonen mangaka who is known for her creative and unique series. She has been working at Weekly Young Magazine for ten years and also held a position at Shueisha around 2002. She's created five previous series before she was able to hit gold with Katekyo Hitman Reborn!
Reborn's known to be one of the most popular series in Jump (the fourth I believe) and has an anime spanning over 100 episodes and a massive fan base. She has made a series that appears so strongly to the targeted group of boys and the harder to catch (with Shonen) girls. Now in addition her series has a ton of games for just about every video game console as well as three light novels and a multitude of products.
Amano Akira's Manga: Boy Spin (1998), Hot Blast Baseball Legendary (1999), Petit Petit Rabbit (2000), Monkey Business (2002), Bakuhatsu HAWK! (2003) and Katekyo Hitman Reborn! (2004 - Present).
Also, according to the Weekly Manga Rankings she usually sells in the top five (behind Naruto, Bleach and occasionally one or two others) and the Light Novels that go with the series was the 3rd most bought in 2008 selling over 100,000 copies while monthly sales for the newest volume of KHR! actively sell 3,000,000+ copies. Reborn! continues to work it's way up to the top with a constantly growing fan base, a second mini-series and another guide book.
