| Basically, Kanone's full name is Kanone Hilbert, though if he had an alias the series eludes to it being Lamenting Angel. Kanone is in his late teens, really late teens, he should be about seventeen years old. Hell knows I can't remember his weight or height off the top of head, and I seem to have lost my source for that. Kanone is of German Origin, even though he is Half-Japanese through his father Mizushiro Yaiba. He even lived in the UK for a while, with his closest relation Eyes Rutherford. He has many occupations but, none are paying jobs. He works as a hunter and on occasion an undercover student. Hiyono reveals that Kanone's birthday is September 25th making him a Libra, he's 17, blood type A, and is fond of takoyaki and cats. His weapons vary, he tends to use his intellect paired with guns or knives.
He first appears in the series as an antagonist. He is the first challenge for Ayumu Narumi after Ayumu joins forces with the other Blade Children. (Note I am following the manga). Kanone arrives straight off the plane from Germany, and stabs Eyes Rutherford, his closest relationship, in the hopes of killing him. Why? because he wants to kill all the Blade Children before turning his gun on himself and killing himself in order to "return to darkness". Why would he do that? Because it is his belief that the Blade Children aren't meant to and, don't deserve to exist. KANONE HILBERT: PERSONALITYWhen Kanone starts out, he appears to be a normal innocent high school good boy with the most charming smile, ever. Everyone at the school takes to him because of his charisma and charm. No one even thinks anything of his sudden entrance because he's just too kind and normal for anything else. He's actually a lot like Yaiba and Hizumi in that respect.
Then he starts his plan. The decisive plan set up by Kiyotaka and executed by Kanone and Hizumi to force Ayumu to begin to move. Kanone shoots Ayumu and ends up taking the whole school hostage. He requests that all the Blade Children, a good thirty or so who go to the school are lined up in the gym so they can be shot. Kanone's cruelty is shown here when he proves he can kill his friends and family, both the Blade Children he's helped raise and those he's never met. Ayumu refuses to kill Kanone which allows for the Blachi's to escape unscathed.
After the battles his smile returns, so it seems he wants to be an a normal teen with a charming smile. In truth he's waiting to die because he knows that either the police will have him executed or Kiyotaka will have someone do it for them. Still, he continues to smile even to his death because in truth he knows his part is over and he's leaving the others in Ayumu's capable hands. KANONE HILBERT: HIS ROLEKanone is a crucial character in the development of Spiral. As he is the first one who actually intends to kill Ayumu without mercy. While the other Blade Children played deadly games with him, they didn't want his life. Kanone really stirs things up that makes Ayumu and the Blade Children come together as allies. In fact he is the first true challenge since Kousuke and Rio's challenges because Kanone is one of the few who can match wits to Ayumu, unlike the hunters and any other previous adversaries.
This makes Ayumu realize the seriousness of the situation. It causes him to stand up using his new courage, and defeat Kanone in a battle of will, wits, and weapons. It is a long battle with all of Ayumu's loved ones at stake but upon Ayumu's victory he didn't kill Kanone as per Kiyotaka's plan. This leaves Kiyotaka to take more action than originally intended.
Kanone has another crucial role in the series. When Hizumi appears as Kanone is held in custody. He tells Kanone he's here to finish what Ayumu couldn't do. He's here to kill Kanone because "Kiyotaka said he could". This death and Kanone's final words to the security camera secures Ayumu's victory against Hizumi. Kanone also serves as a tutor for blade children when they were kids, and without him they probably would have been dead before the series even started. KANONE HILBERT: RELATIONSHIPSEyes Rutherford is a famous pianist from the UK. He has known Kanone since they were young kids, and they've been friends for just that long. Eyes is only a tad bit younger than Kanone. He is the only other Blade Children who knows the details of the creation of the Blade Children, Mizushiro Yaiba, and Hizumi Mizushiro. All the rest are in the dark.
Like I said, Eyes and Kanone grew up together. They grew up Europe together. Kanone taught Eyes many things about life, and how to defend himself, as well as kill. He practically raised Eyes after Eyes' mother died. Eyes would never cry so Kanone promised to always stay by his side and shed tears in Eyes' place. They were very close.
Eyes and Kanone met later again. While they had stayed in contact they hadn't seen each other in ages. They didn't get to have a happy reunion. They totally disagreed in their opinion on Ayumu. After Kanone loses they make up but have only a short time together before Kanone dies.
