Spiral: Suiri no Kizuna is a fairly lesser known series that was written by Kyo Shirodaira and made with art by Eita Mizuno. It was originally a mystery manga that eventually became an anime series. The anime is incomplete as production stopped at episode 25 of a 50+ episode series. This is rumored to be because of a car accident in which the producers of the anime were killed however there is no confirmation on whether or not this is true. The manga however is complete as of 2005. It spans 15 volumes and ran in Monthly Shonen GanGan from 2001 until it's ending in 2005. The anime has been dubbed by FUNimation quite a few years ago and the manga is scheduled for a United States release under a company by the name of Yen Press.
Spiral revolves around the young protagonist Ayumu Narumi as he tries to figure out the Mystery of the Blade Children, a mystery so big it caused his genius older brother to disappear just two years earlier. Ayumu ends up in a heated battle first against the blade children then against those who are trying to kill the blade children in order to save them from their fate.
For those who love mysteries Spiral is the perfect thriller. Spiral has rich characters and a deep and intricate plot. The art is easy on the eyes and both the anime and manga have unique endings. Spiral also sends a good message describing the power to believe in oneself and that it's possible to change fate even when it seems hopeless.
